KHAIRPUR: Khairpur Police have been widely praised after successfully recovering a student who had reportedly been missing for nearly five months, bringing a high-profile case to a close following an extensive investigation.
The student, Asifa Mughal, was traced and recovered from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after what officials described as a coordinated operation involving law enforcement agencies across provincial boundaries. The case had drawn significant public attention, with the student’s family staging a protest at Babarlo Phatak to press for action.
Police said the operation required careful planning, sustained investigative work and close cooperation between different provincial authorities. The recovery has been presented as a result of coordinated efforts led by SSP Khairpur Captain (R) Ameer Saud Magsi and his team.
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar and Inspector General of Police Sindh Javed Alam Odho commended the officers involved, acknowledging their efforts in resolving the case.
