KARACHI: Speakers at a youth-focused event in Karachi stressed that investing in young people is essential to building a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan, calling for greater emphasis on education, skills development and equal opportunities.
The event, organized by the Hope and Justice Council Pakistan under the theme “Invest in Youth for a Better Tomorrow”, brought together social workers, religious leaders, educators and young participants.
Addressing the gathering, speakers described young people as the country’s greatest asset and said investment in education, character building, vocational skills, self-confidence and positive thinking would help secure Pakistan’s long-term development. They urged policymakers and institutions to provide equal opportunities for young people to enable them to contribute meaningfully to national progress.
Among the guests were Sir Nazeer Raja, an education specialist, Zahid Farooq, Senior Vice Chairman of the Hope and Justice Council Pakistan, Finance Secretary Faisal Iqbal and the organization’s Chief Patron, Pastor Reuben Raz.
During the ceremony, appreciation shields were presented to individuals in recognition of their contributions in various fields. The recipients included Reverend Reuben Raz, Dr Cheryl Amjad Farooq, Dr Mishal Adina, Serens Selena, Maria Arif, Advocate Jennifer Stephen, Sir Zeeshan Anjum, Agha Tanveer Baga, Salmana Bhatti and Arif Maqbool.
The event concluded with a commitment by organizers to continue arranging programs aimed at mentoring young people, developing their skills and expanding opportunities for them to play a greater role in Pakistan’s future.
