DADU: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) organised a peaceful protest rally in Dadu against what party leaders described as Indian water aggression, raising concerns over the protection of Sindh’s share of the Indus River.

The rally was held on the directives of PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, PPP District Dadu President and MPA Barrister Pir Mujeeb Ul Haq, MPA Fayyaz Ali Khan Butt and the PPP District General Secretary.
Held under the slogan “We May Die, But We Will Not Give Up the Indus,” the demonstration was led by PPP District Dadu Deputy General Secretary Imdad Hussain Daoch, PPP Taluka Dadu President Advocate Muhammad Umar Panhwar and PPP City Dadu President Ahmed Nawaz Solangi.
A large number of PPP leaders, workers and representatives from various party wings, including Peoples Youth, Hari Committee, SPF and PPP Paramedical Wing, participated in the rally.
Among those attending were PPP District Finance Secretary Zaheer Ahmed Soomro, Senior Vice President PPP Taluka Dadu Muhammad Hussain Solangi, Vice President Imtiaz Ali Panhwar, Information Secretary Wajid Ali Mallah, Deputy General Secretary Wajid Ali Khushk, Muhammad Hassan Qambrani, Salahuddin Bhund, Saifullah Hingoro, Nadeem Saifullah Panhwar, PPP City Dadu General Secretary Murtaza Qambrani, Senior Vice President Iftikhar Rahoojo, Information Secretary Ariz Arain, PPP Hari Committee District Dadu President Abdul Muttalib Panhwar, senior party leader Shahmeer Khan Chhawan, Ali Haider Mallah, Nadir Panhwar, Kamran Shahani, Parvez Korejo and other party activists.
Addressing the participants, PPP leaders said the Indus River was the lifeline of Sindh’s economy, culture and identity, adding that any move to deprive the province of its water rights would not be accepted.
The speakers condemned what they termed Indian water aggression and called for full adherence to international agreements and laws governing the Indus River waters.
Participants chanted slogans in support of the Indus River and expressed their commitment to protecting Sindh’s water rights.
The rally began from the PPP Secretariat (Pir House) in Dadu and concluded at the Dadu Press Club, where the protesters formally recorded their concerns.
