KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain held a virtual meeting on Sunday and agreed to strengthen inter-provincial cooperation through closer coordination on governance, development and climate resilience.
The two chief ministers discussed a range of issues aimed at improving public service delivery and promoting sustainable development in both regions. They agreed that stronger collaboration between provincial governments could help address common challenges and encourage the exchange of expertise and best practices.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah offered Sindh’s technical support to Gilgit-Baltistan in the areas of revenue reforms, public-private partnership projects and climate-resilient housing. He said Sindh had gained valuable experience in these sectors and was ready to share its knowledge to help strengthen institutional capacity and improve development outcomes.
The discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation in public administration and exploring practical ways to implement reforms that could improve governance and economic management. Both sides recognized that sharing successful policy models and administrative experience would contribute to more efficient and transparent government systems.
Climate resilience featured prominently in the talks as both leaders acknowledged the growing impact of climate change on communities across Pakistan. They agreed that greater coordination on climate-resilient housing and sustainable infrastructure would help protect vulnerable populations from natural disasters and strengthen long-term development planning.
The two chief ministers also exchanged views on expanding public-private partnerships to attract investment and improve infrastructure and public services. They noted that collaboration with the private sector could support economic growth while creating new opportunities for employment and regional development.
