ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in Palestine, calling for an immediate halt to hostilities and increased humanitarian assistance for affected civilians.
During a telephone conversation, the two foreign ministers discussed the continuing crisis in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank. They condemned the ongoing Israeli military actions, rising settler violence and repeated incidents at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.
Both ministers stressed the need for urgent international efforts to protect civilians and ensure full respect for international law. They called for uninterrupted humanitarian aid to reach those affected by the conflict and emphasized that diplomatic efforts were necessary to prevent further loss of life and instability in the region.
Ishaq Dar and Badr Abdelatty also discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries aimed at coordinating diplomatic initiatives in support of the Palestinian people. They agreed that collective efforts by regional countries could play an important role in addressing the humanitarian and political challenges arising from the conflict.
The two leaders also exchanged views on wider regional developments and highlighted the importance of restraint, dialogue and diplomacy to avoid further escalation. They reaffirmed their commitment to working together for regional peace, stability and a peaceful resolution of ongoing conflicts.
The conversation came amid growing international concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and renewed calls from regional and global stakeholders for diplomatic engagement to reduce tensions in the Middle East.
