KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi met a high-level delegation of American business leaders at the Governor House to discuss investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI), infrastructure, dairy, livestock, agriculture, information technology and other key sectors.
The delegation was led by Pakistan’s representative in the United States, Muhammad Hanif Channa, and included members of business organizations and senior executives from companies operating in technology, engineering and insurance, alongside prominent Pakistani entrepreneurs.
Welcoming the delegation, the governor said Pakistan and the United States shared long-standing ties based on mutual trust, respect and common interests, adding that there was significant scope to strengthen the relationship through trade, investment and economic cooperation.
Nihal Hshami described Pakistan as a safe and attractive destination for investors, citing its business-friendly environment, expanding market, young workforce and strong commercial potential. He added that the federal government remained committed to facilitating foreign investment, while Sindh offered substantial opportunities across infrastructure, AI, information technology, agriculture, dairy and livestock.
Speaking on regional security, he said Pakistan remained committed to peace, stability and mutual respect. He added that while the country did not initiate aggression against any state, it would firmly defend its sovereignty and national interests whenever challenged. Referring to recent tensions, he said Pakistan had successfully safeguarded its borders under the leadership of the prime minister and the country’s military command.
Members of the US business delegation welcomed Sindh’s investment climate and government policies, expressing strong interest in expanding cooperation in AI, infrastructure, agriculture, dairy, livestock, information technology and other sectors.
