MIRPURKHAS: Intermittent rain continued in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta and Sujawal on Friday, with heavy showers in parts of Mirpurkhas leaving low-lying areas inundated and rainwater entering homes.
Residents in affected areas faced difficulties as water accumulated on roads and entered residential properties. Power supply was also disrupted in parts of Mirpurkhas following a fault in a high-tension transmission line.
Weather systems capable of producing rain remained active over southern and southeastern parts of Sindh, raising the possibility of further showers in the region.
In Karachi, light rain and drizzle were reported in several areas, including Quaidabad, Malir and Gulistan-e-Johar. The showers brought temporary relief from the hot and humid conditions but also affected traffic and routine activities in some areas.
The latest weather activity comes as Sindh continues to experience intermittent monsoon showers, with several districts receiving rainfall at different intensities.
Authorities and residents in low-lying areas have been advised to remain alert to possible water accumulation, particularly if further rainfall occurs.
