KARACHI: A high-level meeting was held at the Karachi Police Office to review security arrangements for processions, Milad gatherings and other religious events planned during the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The meeting, chaired by Additional Inspector General of Karachi Police Azad Khan, was attended by senior police officers, religious scholars, organizers of processions and Milad gatherings, and other relevant stakeholders.
During the meeting, religious scholars and organizers shared their concerns and recommendations regarding security arrangements, traffic management, procession routes, encroachments, parking facilities, cleanliness, street lighting and other administrative matters.
Azad Khan said ensuring the peaceful and secure organization of all religious gatherings during Rabi-ul-Awwal remained the Karachi Police’s top priority.
He directed the concerned police officials to finalize the security plan in a timely manner, maintain special surveillance at sensitive locations, remain in constant contact with organizers and ensure close coordination with all relevant institutions.
The police chief also instructed authorities to prepare a comprehensive traffic management plan to maintain smooth traffic flow along procession routes and ensure advance public awareness about alternative routes.
The meeting agreed to further strengthen coordination between Karachi Police, religious scholars and organizers to maintain law and order, promote religious harmony and protect the lives and property of citizens during the religious events.
