ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has been found guilty by police in connection with the incidents of May 9. The police have requested her physical remand in 12 separate cases, leading to her summons by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) for August 17 (Saturday). The court has directed the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigation team to present Bushra Bibi at 8 AM on Saturday, where the decision on her physical remand will be made.
The police’s preliminary investigation has concluded that Bushra Bibi is culpable for her involvement in the May 9 incidents. The hearings for the police requests, spanning across 12 different stations, were conducted by Judge Malik Ejaz Asif. Bushra Bibi has been implicated based on statements from dissident PTI leaders including Sadaqat Abbasi, Wasiq Qayyum, and Umar Tanveer Butt.
Bushra Bibi faces charges related to attacks on GHQ Gate 4 and the Army Museum, as well as incidents involving the attack on a sensitive agency’s office on Murree Road, the burning of a metro station, and the torching of a sensitive building in Saddar. Additional allegations against her include arson and vandalism on Murree Road, Taxila, and Hazro Attock. The court has also requested the police to provide the initial investigation report and evidence supporting her involvement in these cases.
