KARACHI: Additional Inspector General (IG) Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, held a detailed meeting with a nine-member delegation from the All Pakistan Oil Tanker Owners Association at the Karachi Police headquarters, highlighting efforts to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement and the business community. The delegation was led by Gul Faraz Khan Jadoon, chairman of the association, and included its president, Muhammad Ramzan, alongside other senior members such as Muhammad Usman. DIG Administration was also present to facilitate the discussions.

The meeting focused on the challenges faced by oil tanker operators in the city, including traffic management, safety protocols, and security concerns along critical transport routes. Delegates shared practical suggestions aimed at improving the movement of tankers through Karachi’s congested roads while ensuring the protection of both personnel and cargo. IG Odho welcomed these recommendations, emphasizing the police department’s commitment to working collaboratively with the business community to address pressing issues effectively.

“Maintaining law and order in the city requires close coordination with residents and businesses alike,” the police chief said, underlining the department’s readiness to implement feasible measures that benefit both public safety and commercial operations. He highlighted that engagement with stakeholders such as the Oil Tanker Owners Association was crucial for devising practical solutions tailored to the city’s complex traffic and security dynamics.

The delegation concluded the meeting by presenting a bouquet to Additional IG Karachi as a gesture of appreciation for the police’s attention and responsiveness. Members expressed their confidence that ongoing dialogue and cooperation would lead to tangible improvements in traffic flow and the overall safety of oil tanker operations in Karachi. Observers noted that such meetings reflect a growing trend of proactive engagement between law enforcement and private-sector stakeholders, aiming to foster a safer, more efficient urban environment while reinforcing trust and mutual understanding.
