KARACHI: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wassan has expressed bewilderment at Maryam Nawaz’s recent engagement with Sindh, suggesting her concern for the province has come too late.

Speaking to the media outside Bilawal House in Karachi, Wassan stated, “It’s a surprise how Maryam Nawaz has suddenly remembered Sindh.” He emphasised the struggles faced by the region, adding, “Sindh has already given many sacrifices and it has its own problems.”

Wassan also commented on the country’s broader political climate, indicating that the coming times may be difficult for Pakistan. He welcomed former US president Donald Trump’s recent praise of the current government, albeit with a note of caution.

“It is good that Trump is praising our government,” Wassan said. “Sometimes such praise can be hard to swallow, but so far, it is good.” The PPP leader concluded by pointing to Pakistan’s existing challenges, including its complex relations with Afghanistan and India, implying the nation must first address its own pressing issues.
