ISLAMABAD: Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said that Iran had fulfilled its obligations under the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline agreement, and the line had been completed up to the border. “If there had been no obstacles, Pakistani homes would be using Iranian gas today,” he told reporters in Islamabad, expressing hope for a swift resolution to the project.

Speaking at a press conference, Larijani said Iran was ready to play any role needed to resolve issues between Pakistan and Afghanistan. “Whenever Pakistan requests our cooperation, we will assist. Pakistan stood by Iran during difficult times, and we value the support of its government and people,” he added.

Larijani also commented on regional conflicts, noting concern over disagreements between Pakistan and Afghanistan and promising to explore all avenues for resolution. On Palestine, he reiterated Iran’s position that the Palestinian people should elect their own government through free and fair elections, warning that US proposals offered only temporary solutions and could create long-term problems.
