KARACHI: Police in Karachi arrested a man accused of sexually harassing women by exploiting financial and utility-related arrangements, authorities confirmed. The suspect, identified as Mohsin, allegedly targeted women by lending them money and providing illegal electricity connections for generators in their homes, taking advantage of vulnerable situations to intimidate and harass.
According to officials, Mohsin would reportedly survey residences and enter when other occupants were absent, confronting women over repayment of borrowed money and employing other methods to coerce or harass them. The harassment has caused distress among the victims, prompting intervention by local law enforcement.
A case has been registered against the accused, and police said legal proceedings were underway. Authorities urged anyone with additional information about similar incidents to come forward to aid ongoing investigations. Karachi’s district police emphasized their commitment to protecting residents, particularly women, from harassment and exploitation, stating that offenders would be pursued under the full extent of the law.
