KARACHI: Karachi’s Korangi district police have been directed to step up action against street criminals, drug networks and absconders, as senior officers reviewed crime patterns at a weekly meeting held under the supervision of SSP Korangi Fida Hussain Janwari.

The meeting, convened at the SSP Korangi office, was attended by SP Investigation (Korangi 3) Qais Khan along with all station house officers from the district. Officers presented a detailed assessment of each police station’s performance, covering ongoing operations against street crime, drug peddlers, the gutka–mawa mafia, organized criminal groups, and suspects who remain wanted or on the run.

Janwari instructed all SHOs to pursue a strict zero‑tolerance policy against narcotics dealers and those involved in gambling rackets, urging them to accelerate raids and ensure no offenders evade arrest. He stressed the immediate apprehension of all absconders listed in police records and called for the identification and dismantling of motorcycle‑theft gangs that continue to operate across Korangi.

The SSP also pushed for a more coordinated crime‑prevention strategy, emphasizing that snap checks, targeted raids and combing operations must be carried out daily. He warned that any negligence in dealing with citizens visiting police stations would lead to departmental action, adding that transparency and courteous conduct were to be treated as essential components of police work.

Janwari said the district’s policing strategy would remain uncompromising, with all available resources deployed to bring street offenders and other criminal networks before the law. He added that Korangi police would continue to prioritize public safety as part of a broader effort to curb the growing influence of organized and street‑level crime in the city.
