    Anjuman Mubasareen-e-Pakistan holds Mushaira in Karachi

    KARACHI: Anjuman Mubasareen-e-Pakistan, in collaboration with the Karachi Maymar Lines Club, hosted a grand Mushaira (poetry gathering) at a local club, celebrating 52 years of the Anjuman’s literary and cultural norm.

    The event was presided over by senior poet Rounaq Hayat, while poet Dr Iftikhar Malik Advocate, attended as the chief guest. The program began with an overview of the Anjuman’s achievements by President Dr Furqan Ahmed, who also expressed gratitude to the Maymar Lines Club for their support.

    The evening featured recitations by poets Yasir Saeed Siddiqui, Shehzeen Faraz, Tajur Shakeel, Arian Farhat, Sahar Ali, and Rehana Ahsan, whose performances received with applause by the audience. Fellow poets Atta Tabassum, Sahibzada Atiq, and Salman Siddiqui, along with the chief guest Dr Iftikhar Malik, praised the Anjuman’s work and paid tribute to its longstanding contributions.

    In his address, Rounaq Hayat highlighted that for over four decades, Anjuman Mubasareen-e-Pakistan has consistently supported not only literature but also showbiz and sports in Karachi, making it one of the city’s oldest active social and cultural organizations. The event concluded with the founding chairman, Rashid Latif, thanking all poets and dignitaries for their participation.
