KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presented a traditional ajrak to Palestinian ambassador Zuhair Muhammad during a cultural festival in Karachi.
The chief minister also gifted ajraks to the ambassadors of the Philippines and Morocco, as well as the consuls general of Germany, Sri Lanka, Japan and the UAE, and the British high commissioner.
Speaking at the festival’s closing ceremony, Shah thanked the international artists who travelled to Pakistan and praised the Arts Council Karachi for organising what he described as a “beautiful festival”.
He said representatives from more than 140 countries had taken part in the event, adding that culture remained “a core part of our identity”. He also commended the Sindh culture minister for his efforts in bringing the festival together.
