DADU: One person was killed and 24 others, including women and children, injured when a speeding ambulance collided with a truck on the Indus Highway near Bhan Syedabad on Monday. The ambulance was transporting a dead body from Karachi to Mehar when the accident occurred.
Police said a 50-year-old passenger, later identified as Nihal Chandio, died at the scene. The injured were taken to Syed Abdullah Shah Institute for treatment. The impact of the collision was so severe that the body being transported was thrown from the ambulance.
Authorities removed the damaged vehicles from the road and restored traffic. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and expressed concern over the fact that 24 people were travelling in a single ambulance.
