KARACHI: The Kamran English Language Point (KELP) Institute successfully held the Fourth Annual All-Karachi Speech Competition, celebrating the life and exemplary character of Caliph Umar (RA) at the Pakistan American Cultural Center (PACC).

The event drew students from across Karachi, who delivered speeches in Urdu, English, Pashto, Sindhi, Saraiki, Hindko, Arabic, Persian, and Balochi, reflecting Pakistan’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity. The competition aimed to familiarize young people with the virtues of Caliph Umar (RA), including justice, fairness, leadership, responsibility, and God-consciousness.

Participants presented articulate, well-researched, and impactful speeches, receiving widespread appreciation from the audience. Special guests included President of the Sindh Media Forum Moin Ullah Shah and Vice President Shah Nawaz Khan, who distributed shields to the winners.

The ceremony also featured an Interfaith Delegation, sending a strong message of religious harmony and peaceful coexistence.

Distinguished attendees included Father Shahzad Arshad, Director of the National Commission for Justice & Peace; Sister Catherine Gill of Saint Lawrence Convent Girls’ School; Kashif Anthony of St. Patrick’s School; Mukhi Allam Chand of the All Hindu Panchayat Thatta; Pandit Mukesh Kumar Jedia, President of Minority Affairs; and Maghan Singh, representative of the Sikh community.

The guests praised the initiative, highlighting its role in fostering intellectual growth, tolerance, brotherhood, and leadership among youth. The event saw a large gathering of social, religious, and educational personalities, alongside teachers, parents, and students.

Outstanding participants were awarded trophies, medals, certificates, and shields. Kamran Ahmed, head of KELP Institute, expressed gratitude to the guests and reiterated the institute’s commitment to character-building and personal development, noting that the annual competition will continue to expand in scope and impact.
