DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The District Girls Annual Sports Tournament, organized under the leadership of Chairperson Farzana Shaheen, Principal of Government Girls Centennial Model High School No. 1, concluded successfully, bringing pride to the district and the institution.
The tournament, held from 20 October to 6 December, featured competitions including march pasts, PT displays, and band performances, showcasing the athletic talent of high and higher secondary school girls across the district. The concluding ceremony was attended by Mrs. Ali Amin Gandapur, wife of the former Chief Minister, as the chief guest.
Mrs. Ali Amin Gandapur praised Farzana Shaheen and the organizing committee for their exceptional management and dedication and distributed cash prizes among participants to recognise their hard work and talent. This year marked a milestone as all participating athletes were provided meals for the first time, a gesture widely appreciated by students and staff.
Public and social circles also acknowledged the efforts of DEO (Female) Syeda Anjum, Tournament Chairperson Farzana Shaheen, and General Sports Secretary Riffat Sabah for their contributions in promoting girls’ sports across the district.
