KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, attended a dinner organized by the Special Branch Sindh at the Special Branch Complex in Keamari on 12 December 2025.
The event was attended by Additional IGs of Karachi, CTD, Operations, Welfare, Training, DIGs Headquarters, Special Branch officials, DG Safe City Authority, and other senior officers and staff. The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the screening of a short documentary highlighting the initiatives and achievements of IG Sindh.
Tributes were paid to the martyrs of Sindh Police, particularly those from the Special Branch. Special Branch OS Nadeem Qadri and Lady Police officer Shamaila Shah presented poems and speeches in honor of the IG.

DIG Special Branch Sindh addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude to all participants and emphasizing the critical role of Special Branch staff and the families of martyrs. Officers shared personal reflections, noting that IG Memon had been a role model since 2006, demonstrating professionalism, merit-based leadership, and commitment to modern policing reforms.
The IG was praised for introducing significant reforms in Sindh Police, including health insurance, pay scale revisions, automation, PointMe system, task forces, and merit-based promotions. His leadership strengthened welfare measures and professional practices, particularly in CTD and Special Branch.
IG Memon, in his address, highlighted the contribution of police martyrs to the province’s peace and security. He acknowledged the Sindh government’s support in implementing reforms in intelligence and counter-terrorism agencies. He stressed the importance of strengthening human resources within the Special Branch and enhancing coordination with district police for effective operations.

He also noted the Special Branch’s role in curbing motorcycle thefts, taking action against notorious drug traffickers, and assisting in the deportation of illegally residing foreigners, reflecting its pivotal role in maintaining law and order across the province.
The event concluded with DIG Special Branch and other officials presenting shields and gifts to IG Sindh in recognition of his leadership and service. The gathering underscored the professionalism, dedication, and ongoing commitment of the Sindh Police and the Special Branch to public safety and security.
