DADU: The Dadu Press Club concluded its annual elections for 2026 on Saturday, with Nizam Sheikh elected president after securing all 36 votes cast. The contest saw a complete victory for Sheikh and his panel, with every office-bearer winning unopposed.

The elections were supervised by an election committee headed by Baban Khan Panhwar, with members Wali Chandio, Shehzad Bhand, and Qurban Khask overseeing the process. Alongside Nizam Sheikh, Sarwar Jalal Solangi was elected vice president, Gullan Khan Bhand as general secretary, Rizwan Ghani Mangi as joint secretary, Riaz Qadir Narejo as finance secretary, and Sakhi Sardar Charn as auditor, all securing full support from the electorate.

For the governing body, successful candidates included Ali Muhammad Jamali, Gulshair Solangi, Alabakhsh Khask, Taj Muhammad Sheikh, Mumtaz Ali Bhand, Asif Panhwar, Ghaus Jehtial, Muharram Sheeno, Azad Baloch, Khalid Abbasi, and Deedar Sheikh. The rival panel led by Sabir Bhand garnered 26 votes.

Strict security measures were implemented during polling to prevent any untoward incidents, reflecting the tense atmosphere surrounding the elections. Senior journalists, including PFUJ leader Lala Rehman Samoon and Sindh Journalists Council’s Ghazi Khan Jhandir, attended as observers alongside reporters from other cities.

Following the announcement of results, a victory rally was led by Nizam Sheikh, general secretary Gullan Khan Bhand, Javed Qadir Narejo, and Riaz Wali Chandio. The rally, accompanied by drumbeats, was warmly received by hundreds of citizens and journalists from Phulji Station, Johi, and surrounding towns, who showered flowers on the participants and garlanded the successful office-bearers with flowers and currency notes.
