NAWABSHAH: The Regional Director of Mohtasib (Ombudsman) Shaheed Benazirabad, Khan Muhammad Zardari, held an open public hearing in village Noor Ahmed Jalbani, successfully resolving a complaint filed by Savera concerning inheritance claim.
Savera had sought legal transfer of property left by her late husband—including agricultural land, a shop, and a brick kiln—into her name and that of her children. Following intervention by the Ombudsman’s office, all inherited properties were transferred according to their legal shares.
During the hearing, possession of the property was formally handed over to Savera. Lease compensation of Rs120,000 for 2 acres and 8 ghuntas of agricultural land, and Rs150,000 for the brick kiln, was recovered from the lessee and paid to her.
The Regional Director also briefed attendees on the Ombudsman’s powers, jurisdiction, and procedures for filing complaints against maladministration, emphasizing the institution’s role as an independent forum to protect citizens’ rights and improve public services. Savera expressed gratitude for the restoration of her late husband’s property.
