KARACHI: The English Speaking Union of Pakistan (ESUP) welcomed Abdul Aziz Issa, Lebanon’s ambassador to Pakistan, as a distinguished guest speaker at a recent event. His visit highlighted the warm relations between Lebanon and Pakistan and opened discussion on opportunities for closer cooperation in education, culture, trade, and tourism.

In his address, Ambassador Issa spoke about Lebanon’s rich cultural heritage, history, and current developments. He emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections in strengthening international ties and expressed optimism about future collaboration between the two countries.

The event brought together ESUP members, academics, and dignitaries, providing a platform for lively discussion and exchange of ideas. Ambassador Issa responded to questions from the audience, offering insights into Lebanon’s experiences and perspectives on regional and global issues. The session reflected the keen interest of Pakistani professionals and academics in Lebanon’s cultural and developmental progress.

Aziz Memon, ESUP’s Patron-in-Chief, highlighted the organization’s activities and its recent visit to the Patron Dinner in London hosted by the ESU Commonwealth. Pervez Madraswala, ESUP president, thanked Ambassador Issa for sharing his vision and expertise. “We are grateful to H.E. Ambassador Issa for inspiring us with his thought-provoking words and for reaffirming Lebanon’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan,” he said.

Senior Vice President Irfan Qureshi and Secretary General Majyd Aziz also offered their perspectives, while Lebanon’s Honorary Consul General Najeeb Baig attended the gathering. ESUP said it looks forward to ongoing dialogue and collaboration with the Lebanese Embassy, exploring initiatives that promote cultural exchange, academic partnerships, and people-to-people diplomacy.
