TANDO ALLAHYAR: Preparations are under way at the Eagle Karate Academy in Tando Allahyar ahead of the upcoming National Karate Championship in Lahore, with coaches and athletes expressing confidence about a strong showing at the national level.

As part of the build-up, the academy organised a belt promotion ceremony aimed at encouraging sporting activities in the district. The event was attended by DSP City Sikandar Samejo and prominent local businessman Nasir Qureshi as special guests. During the ceremony, karate players demonstrated their skills in kata, kumite and other competitive routines, drawing praise from those present.

Addressing the athletes, Sikandar Samejo said he was encouraged to see players from different age groups training with dedication and discipline. He added that it was a source of pride to learn that athletes from the academy were representing Pakistan at both national and international levels. Participation in sports, he said, helped young people stay away from harmful habits and contributed to their physical and moral development.

The academy’s athletes are set to compete in the 33rd National Karate Championship, which will be held in Lahore. The tournament is being organised by Tensionkan Karate Pakistan under the leadership of Chief Sensei Bashir Butt, with Javed Noor serving as patron-in-chief, alongside Shaukat Jhandir and his organising team.

Officials noted that the Tando Allahyar Eagle Karate Academy has previously secured the Riazul Haq Judge Trophy in Okara, and expressed hope that the team would once again claim the top position.

Tributes were paid to Ajay Kumar, also known as Black Bullet Sensei, and team coach Syed Shahzad Bukhari, crediting their training and commitment for enabling the academy’s athletes to raise Pakistan’s profile in karate competitions at home and abroad.
