JAKARTA: A business delegation from Sindh Province, Pakistan, secured trade and cooperation agreements worth USD 22.9 million at the 2025 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) in BSD City, officials said. The visit was coordinated by the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi.

The agreements, formalized through several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), cover sectors including natural commodities, automotive parts, textiles and fashion, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and food and beverages. Major deals included a partnership between Mehran Commercial Enterprises (Pakistan) and Indonesian firms ASTRA Otoparts and PT APM Armada Autoparts, establishing a supply cooperation valued at USD 3 million over the next year. Other collaborations involve natural resin trade and snack product supply between Pakistani and Indonesian companies.

Strategic MoUs were also signed with Indonesian associations, such as the Indonesian Medical Device Producers Association (ASPAKI), Indonesian Laboratory Equipment Association (GASKELAB), and the Indonesian Exporters Association (GPEI-Jakarta), as well as business networks like Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan and PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia.

The signing ceremony took place at a Networking Dinner hosted by the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi on 18 October, highlighting strengthened people-to-people and business-to-business ties.

“The Pakistani business community showed great enthusiasm during the Expo, with over 140 business matching sessions,” said Mudzakir M.A., Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi. Leaders of Pakistani business associations praised the facilitation, noting that the MoUs reflect growing trust and a shared vision between the two countries’ business communities.

The Sindh delegation, including 25 representatives from diverse industries and major trade associations, attended TEI 2025 from 15–19 October, participating in exhibitions, networking forums, and company visits.
