KARACHI: Sindh’s Minister for Information, Transport and Public Works, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has said that the provincial government’s ongoing development projects are significantly improving the province’s economy and the lives of its people.

In a statement, Memon highlighted that key infrastructure schemes — including the Coastal Highway, Rohri–Guddu Barrage Road, Mehran Highway, Tando Allahyar–Tando Adam Road, and the Sanghar–Rohri Highway — are of strategic importance and will boost economic activity across Sindh.

He said that the construction of new highways and roads would play a vital role in strengthening regional and inter-provincial connectivity, leading to growth in trade, agriculture, and the industrial sector.

The senior minister added that ongoing development work in districts such as Sanghar, Tando Allahyar, and Nawabshah is part of the government’s broader policy to revitalize the rural economy and create new employment opportunities for young people.

Memon emphasized that transparency, efficiency, and public benefit remain the Sindh government’s top priorities in the development process. He said the timely release of funds and continuous project monitoring reflect the government’s vision to provide equal opportunities for both urban and rural communities. He further pointed to the Sindh Flood Emergency Reconstruction Project as a clear example of the government’s commitment to building a stronger and more sustainable infrastructure for the future.

“The way the Sindh government launched and managed the post-flood rehabilitation process after the devastating 2022 floods has been recognised as a model for the federation and other institutions,” Memon said, adding that the restoration and expansion of roads in flood-affected areas remain critical to the province’s long-term development and economic stability.
