DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Dera Food Authority seized and destroyed 10,500 litres of expired cold drinks belonging to a well-known beverage company during a major enforcement operation aimed at removing unsafe products from the market.
The action was carried out on the directives of the Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority, Kashif Jilani, as part of ongoing inspections targeting substandard and hazardous food and beverage items. Officials said the raid was led by Assistant Director Dr Wasif Khan, who supervised the recovery and immediate disposal of the expired stock.
The beverages were destroyed on the spot at a designated dumping site in the presence of the company’s owner, in line with regulatory procedures intended to ensure transparency in enforcement actions. Authorities said the quantity of confiscated drinks reflected a serious breach of food safety standards.
