KHAIRPUR: An awareness seminar was held at Government Girls High School, Mir Ali Bazar, Khairpur, jointly organised by the District Health Office Khairpur and the social organisation Association for Mother and Newborns to mark World Immunisation Week.

The event was attended by District Health Officer Dr Kaleemullah Shaikh, EPI focal person Dr Ashfaq Ahmed Mallah, Dr Tabish Phul, Dr Salehan Baloch and others.
Addressing the seminar, Dr Shaikh said vaccination was the most effective and safe way to protect children from dangerous diseases. He said parents should ensure timely immunisation of their children to protect them from polio, measles, pneumonia and other life-threatening illnesses.
He added that the government’s immunisation programme was being provided free of cost and that these services were available at all health centres in the district. He stressed that every member of society had a responsibility to play their role in awareness efforts and help dispel misconceptions about vaccines.
He said the purpose of World Immunisation Week was to raise public awareness and highlight the importance of vaccination for protecting every child from disease. He urged teachers, parents and students to fully cooperate with the health department in building a healthier future generation.
The event was attended by teachers and a large number of students, including Allah Dino Shaikh, Muhammad Tayyab Arian and Muhammad Rafiq. Later, an awareness walk was also organised, which concluded at Phool Bagh.
