KARACHI: Elections for the Anjuman Tajiran Babar Market, the traders’ association representing businesses in Landhi’s Babar Market, are expected to be held in September 2026.
The election schedule was announced by Naveed Anwar Mari, administrator of the Sindh government’s Industries and Commerce Department, during a visit to Babar Market followed by a meeting with traders.
Mari said traders would be given from 10 to 25 August to complete their membership registration. Those who fail to obtain formal membership within the specified period will not be eligible to vote in the elections.
He said the elections would be held in the final week of September in accordance with a court order, with 28 September 2026 set as the expected polling date.
The election will determine the new leadership of the registered traders’ association at Babar Market, one of Karachi’s major commercial markets.
