KARACHI: Spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentary Leader in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Karamullah Waqasi, said practical measures were being taken under the leadership of Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab to resolve public issues across Baldia Town and other parts of the city.
He said the provision of essential civic facilities, permanent solutions to water supply and sewerage problems, and timely completion of development projects remained among the top priorities of the city administration.
Karamullah Waqasi said relevant departments had been directed to ensure quality, transparency and timely execution of development schemes without any compromise so that citizens could benefit from sustainable municipal infrastructure.
He made these remarks while highlighting the outcomes of a high-level review meeting chaired by Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab at the headquarters of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC).
The meeting focused on reviewing civic issues in Baldia Town, including water supply, sewerage management and progress on ongoing development and rehabilitation projects.
The meeting was attended by chairmen of various Union Committees of Baldia Town, senior officials of KWSC and other concerned authorities.
During the session, participants reviewed the progress of development schemes, rehabilitation works and service delivery initiatives. Officials briefed the meeting on project implementation, current progress, operational challenges and future planning.
Following the meeting, Karamullah Waqasi held a separate discussion with chairmen of Baldia Town Union Committees and KWSC executive engineers at the Water and Sewerage Corporation office.
The meeting discussed civic issues faced by residents of different Union Committees, particularly water supply, sewerage infrastructure and ongoing development and rehabilitation projects.
Concerned officials briefed the participants on progress made so far and steps being taken to accelerate the completion of projects.
Karamullah Waqasi said all relevant departments had been instructed to closely monitor development schemes, ensure their completion within stipulated timelines and provide immediate relief to citizens by resolving civic complaints without unnecessary delays.
He said the Pakistan People’s Party believed in fulfilling its commitments to the people and would continue taking steps for Karachi’s development, improvement of civic infrastructure and provision of quality municipal services.
Highlighting the vision of Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Waqasi said regular monitoring of development projects was being carried out to ensure that public welfare schemes were completed efficiently and their benefits reached citizens at the earliest.
He reiterated that the city’s leadership remained committed to transforming Karachi into a modern, well-planned and fully facilitated metropolitan city through transparent governance and sustainable development initiatives.
