KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner West Karachi Ali Zulfiqar Memon visited Banaras, Bacha Khan Chowk and adjoining areas to inspect encroachments and hear residents’ concerns.
During the visit, Memon met members of the Banaras Bacha Khan Chowk Action Committee and reviewed a range of public issues affecting the area.
Town Chairman Mominabad Malik Arif Awan, Municipal Commissioner Mominabad Asghar Ali Banar, Municipal Commissioner Orangi Agha Fahad, SHO Pirabad Wasim Anis, SHO Orangi Channa, DSP Orangi Muhammad Wasim, Assistant Commissioner Aiza Inam and other officials accompanied him.
Local community representatives welcomed the deputy commissioner at Dera Haji Ghulam Hussain Banaras and presented him with a traditional Sindhi ajrak.
Action Committee Chairman Siddiq Akbar and other members briefed Memon on problems faced by residents, including encroachments. The deputy commissioner heard their concerns and issued directives to the relevant officials to address the grievances.
Memon assured the committee and local residents that practical measures would be taken within three days to remove encroachments from Banaras, Bacha Khan Chowk and surrounding areas.
