KHAIRPUR MIRS: The 11th meeting of the Syndicate of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development (BBS-UTech) was held at the university campus on Sunday, with the forum approving a series of academic, administrative, developmental and financial measures.
The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof (Meritorious) Dr Rasool Bux Mahar in his capacity as chairperson of the Syndicate. The proceedings began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by introductions.
The vice-chancellor welcomed members attending both in person and online and thanked them for their participation and guidance.
Mahar also acknowledged the services of outgoing Syndicate members Asad Ali Shah Jillani and Syed Sardar Ali Shah Jillani, praising their contributions to the university’s development.
Syndicate members appreciated the progress made by the university and commended its administration for efforts to improve the quality of technology education and strengthen the institution’s academic standing.
The Syndicate approved the appointments of teaching and non-teaching staff recommended by the 10th meeting of the Selection Board held on July 25 and 26.
The forum also approved the revised budget and actual expenditure for 2025-26, as well as budget estimates for 2026-27. It endorsed recommendations of the Finance and Planning Committee concerning the revised budget and actual expenditure of the Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui IT Centre for 2025-26 and its recurring budget estimates for 2026-27.
The Syndicate also ratified actions taken by the vice-chancellor in matters relating to good governance, institutional development and administration. Other academic, administrative, developmental and financial matters were also discussed and approved.
In his closing remarks, Dr Mahar thanked Syndicate members for their participation, guidance and support. He assured the meeting that all approved decisions would be implemented in accordance with university rules, regulations and statutes.
