ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appealed to voters in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to support the party’s candidates in the upcoming elections, urging them to cast their votes for the PPP’s electoral symbol, the arrow.
In a message shared on social media platform X, Bilawal called on voters to participate actively in the democratic process and support PPP candidates, describing their vote as a choice for what he termed the rights of self-governance, ownership and employment.
The PPP chairman specifically appealed to voters in the Mirpur Division to ensure the success of all party candidates by marking the election symbol on the ballot paper. He said the party’s campaign was focused on addressing the aspirations of the people and providing greater opportunities for residents of the region.
Bilawal said the PPP had remained committed to democratic values and equal rights. He urged the people of Kashmir to support the party’s vision of inclusive development and stronger representation for the region.
The appeal came ahead of the AJK elections scheduled for July 27, with political parties intensifying their campaigns and reaching out to voters across the region. Candidates from different parties have been seeking public support by highlighting their plans for governance, development and public welfare.
The PPP leadership has presented employment opportunities, social development and political empowerment as key issues in its election campaign. Party officials have said that strengthening democratic institutions and improving living standards would remain among their priorities if given the mandate.
