KARACHI: The “Clean and Green Korangi” campaign continued in full swing on its third day, with cleanliness and beautification work progressing rapidly in Allah Wala Town, UC-2 under the supervision of chairman Muhammad Israr Khan.
During the campaign, Korangi Town chairman Muhammad Naeem Sheikh visited Allah Wala Town, UC-2 along with vice chairman Zareen Awan and reviewed the ongoing cleanliness drive in detail. They inspected work in various areas and appreciated the performance of the staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Naeem Sheikh said the “Clean and Green Korangi” campaign would be made successful at every level and that no negligence in cleanliness would be tolerated in any area. He directed that sanitation standards be further improved and that work continue equally across all union committees.
Zareen Awan said positive results of the campaign were beginning to emerge, with a clear improvement in the sanitation system. He added that all staff were working with full dedication and that residents would soon have access to a clean and green environment.
UC-2 chairman Muhammad Israr Khan said that under his supervision all sanitation work in the area was being completed on a priority basis. He added that, alongside cleaning streets, roads and markets, special attention was also being given to tree plantation and the improvement of footpaths.
On the third day of the campaign, sanitation staff continued cleaning roads, streets and major thoroughfares, while ensuring the timely disposal of waste. Work on cleaning and painting footpaths was also under way at pace.
According to municipal officials, the “Clean and Green Korangi” campaign would continue with greater momentum in the coming days, with phased measures for cleanliness, tree plantation and beautification to be completed across all union committees of Korangi Town in an effort to make the area a model, clean locality.
