HANGU: Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah visited Hangu district on Monday to review security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram and directed authorities to ensure foolproof and exemplary measures across the district.
The commissioner, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Hangu Basir Ali Rahman and Additional Deputy Commissioner Nasir Khan, inspected several imambargahs including Pas Kale, Qaumi, Raisan and Ibrahimzai. During the visit, he reviewed procession routes, security checkpoints and other sensitive locations in detail.
He also examined arrangements for electricity supply, drinking water, street lighting, sanitation and other civic facilities, instructing relevant departments to complete all preparations well in time to avoid any inconvenience during religious gatherings.
Officials briefed the commissioner that comprehensive arrangements had been put in place, including security deployment, traffic management plans, surveillance systems, emergency medical response mechanisms and coordination through a central control room to ensure effective monitoring during Muharram.
The commissioner also visited the district control room and appreciated the monitoring and rapid response systems in place, while stressing the importance of strengthening inter-agency coordination to ensure timely response to any situation.
Later, he met local elders and community leaders, who assured full cooperation with the administration and law enforcement agencies to maintain peace, law and order, and promote interfaith harmony during Muharram.
