JAMSHORO: The Sindh Action Committee strongly condemned alleged police violence against youth celebrating Cultural Day in Karachi, following a key meeting held at the GM Syed Edifice in Jamshoro on Sunday, chaired by Syed Zain Shah.

Committee members said the use of force, abusive language and physical assault against young celebrants had deeply hurt Sindhis across the province and those living outside Sindh. They demanded an official apology from the authorities and called for legal action against those responsible.

The meeting also addressed the current political situation, with participants expressing concern that constitutional amendments were being used to weaken the judiciary and facilitate the establishment of parallel “government courts,” describing these developments as alarming.

The committee further called for the immediate release of political prisoners across the country and unanimously demanded the scrapping of the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, urging the Constitution be restored to its original form.
