ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reiterated that the government remained committed to addressing the challenges faced by the people of Balochistan and supporting efforts aimed at bringing economic development and prosperity to the province.
Senator Ishaq Dar expressed these views during a meeting with National Party President Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, who called on him in Islamabad along with parliamentary members of his party. He said the government was focused on working for the welfare of the people of Balochistan and helping them achieve their legitimate aspirations within the constitutional framework of Pakistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the province’s progress and stability were among the government’s priorities and efforts would continue to improve opportunities for its people. He stressed that inclusive development and public welfare were essential for strengthening national unity. He said the government would continue to engage with political stakeholders and representatives of the province to address issues through dialogue and cooperation.
Dr Abdul Malik Baloch appreciated the government’s approach and said the National Party was ready to work with all political forces for the betterment of Balochistan and the welfare of its people.
During the meeting, the National Party president also spoke about the security situation in the province. He said groups involved in insurgency had neither public support nor legitimacy among the people of Balochistan. He maintained that the people of the province wanted peace, stability and opportunities for progress.
The discussion came as the government continued efforts to strengthen political engagement in Balochistan and address long-standing challenges through development initiatives, dialogue and improved governance.
