TANDO ALLAHYAR: Eighteen police officers, including two station house officers, were suspended on allegations of facilitating drug activity following action by sensitive agencies in the district.
Acting on the instructions of the DIG Hyderabad, the SSP Tando Allahyar, Syed Saleem Shah, took action against what he described as “black sheep” within the police force. After an investigation, around 18 officers, including two SHOs, were suspended and ordered to report to Hyderabad line.
The suspended officers included SHO Allan Abbasi, SHO Mehboob Phoor, ASI Sarmad Khoso, ASI Jamil Khanzada, ASI Allah Dino Abro, head muharrar RRF Muhammad Bakhsh Leghari, PC Rahim Leghari, PC Khurram Kaleem Khanzada, PC Irfan Kalro, PC Nareez Aslam, PC Shahid Jaidi, PC Irfan Daeri, PC Imdad Leghari, PC Shakeel Leghari, PC Fazal Narejo, PC Naveed Ali, PC Mukhtiar Baloch, PC Shah Nawaz Saand, PC Rehan Qazi, PC Lalu Marri and PC Kashif Kashmiri.
According to SSP Syed Saleem Shah, the officers had been directed to report to Hyderabad line. He said that police personnel involved in social evils, including drugs, would not be spared and that indiscriminate departmental action would be taken.
He added that the responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the public rested with the police, and such measures were necessary to safeguard society from crimes including drug-related offences.
