SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD: 21 December 2025: First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, MNA, inaugurated major road rehabilitation and expansion schemes near Sultan Mori and Colonel Mori in the 60-Mile area of Shaheed Benazirabad.

The inaugurated projects include the rehabilitation of roads from Mehran Highway (Bandhi) to 60-Mile and the 3-Chak Road at Colonel Mori, as well as the rehabilitation and improvement of the Bandhi–Sultan Mori Road up to 3-Chak. These initiatives aim to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and facilitate smoother movement for local communities, particularly benefiting farmers, students, and patients seeking access to health services.

Provincial Minister for Health Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, senior government officials, and party workers attended the inauguration ceremony.

While addressing the gathering, the First Lady emphasized that improving infrastructure in rural and underserved areas remains a top priority of the Pakistan Peoples Party. She stated that quality road networks play a vital role in supporting education, healthcare, trade, and overall socio-economic development, and noted that these initiatives reflect the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to integrate underdeveloped regions into the national development framework.

The Bandhi–Sultan Mori Road up to 3-Chak spans a length of 17 kilometers and serves 13 villages, benefiting approximately 12,000 people. The project has been undertaken at a cost of Rs 335.154 million, with a road width of 12 feet, and is currently in the final stages of rehabilitation.

The second project, connecting Mehran Highway (Bandhi) to 60-Mile and the 3-Chak Road at Colonel Mori via Chutto Pitafi, Mir Hassan Jamali, Muhammad Yaqoob Mir Jatt, and Sultan Mori, covers a total length of 27 kilometers. Of this, 8.5 kilometers involve road reconditioning, while 18.5 kilometers are being widened from 12 feet to 18 feet. The project serves 31 villages and union councils, benefiting nearly 39,000 people, at a total cost of Rs 738.479 million, with completion scheduled for the fiscal year 2023–24.

Executive Engineer Provincial Highway, Shaheed Benazirabad, Asim Ali Abro, briefed the First Lady on the progress of the projects and highlighted their positive impact on trade, transportation, education, and healthcare access in the region.

The First Lady reaffirmed that these development projects will significantly strengthen connectivity, ensure safer travel, and create enhanced economic opportunities for the people of Shaheed Benazirabad.
