SANGHAR: Police in Sanghar conducted a raid and dismantled an illegal gutka manufacturing factory near Goth Malook Jonejo on 15 May 2026, arresting four suspects and seizing a large quantity of raw material, officials said.

The operation was carried out jointly by CIA Sanghar and Taluka Police under the directives of SSP Sanghar, following a tip-off. The raid was led by the in-charge CIA and the SHO of Taluka Police Station.
Police sealed the factory during the operation and recovered machinery and raw materials used in production. The seized items included a modern gutka-making machine, 144 kilograms of raw betel nut, 6 kilograms of lime, 15 kilograms of finished gutka, and other packing and storage materials.
Four suspects were arrested on the spot and identified as Javed Makrani, Kamal Makrani, Veeram Das Kolhi and Ashok Meghwar.
Police said a case had been registered against the suspects at Taluka Police Station under relevant sections of the Sindh Gutka and Mainpuri Act.
Further investigation was under way to identify and trace other members of the network involved in the illegal trade.
