RAWALPINDI: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday, where both sides discussed regional security issues and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered matters of mutual interest and the evolving regional security environment. The two sides exchanged views on challenges facing the region and explored opportunities to further expand cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait.
Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan and Kuwait shared a common vision for regional peace, stability and prosperity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its longstanding and close relationship with Kuwait, describing bilateral ties as based on mutual respect and shared interests.
The army chief highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries, particularly in areas linked to security and regional stability. He said stronger engagement between Pakistan and Kuwait would contribute to greater coordination on issues of common concern.
The ISPR said the meeting also focused on measures to enhance existing cooperation and deepen relations between the two brotherly countries. Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah appreciated Pakistan’s consistent support for Kuwait and acknowledged Islamabad’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region. He also praised the historic and fraternal relationship between the two nations.
The visit reflected continued high-level engagement between Pakistan and Kuwait, with both countries seeking to broaden cooperation across diplomatic, economic and security fields. Officials said the discussions reinforced the shared commitment of the two countries to maintaining close coordination on regional and international matters.
