ISLAMABAD: Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said the government was committed to facilitating foreign investors and encouraging joint ventures to strengthen economic growth and expand international partnerships.
He made these remarks during a meeting with an Iranian business delegation accompanied by officials from the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad.
The meeting focused on ways to enhance bilateral trade and promote greater economic cooperation between Pakistan and Iran. Both sides discussed opportunities for increasing business-to-business engagement and creating a more favorable environment for investment.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said Pakistan was working to improve investment facilitation mechanisms and provide necessary support to foreign companies interested in establishing partnerships in the country. He said the government was taking measures to make investment processes easier and more effective for international investors.
The minister said stronger cooperation between Pakistani and Iranian businesses could create new opportunities in trade, industry and investment. He highlighted the importance of joint ventures, saying such partnerships could contribute to economic development and benefit both countries.
The Iranian delegation shared its views on expanding commercial relations and increasing cooperation between the private sectors of Pakistan and Iran. The participants discussed possible areas where businesses from both sides could work together.
The meeting reflected ongoing efforts by Islamabad and Tehran to deepen economic relations and improve regional connectivity through trade and investment cooperation.
Both countries have repeatedly expressed their desire to utilise their geographical proximity and shared interests to expand economic engagement. Officials said stronger business links could play an important role in promoting mutual development and creating new avenues for economic growth.
