TEHRAN: Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Bagher Ghalibaf has said there is no alternative except accepting the rights of the Iranian people as outlined in a 14-point proposal, warning that any other approach would fail to produce results.
In a statement, Ghalibaf said that delaying the process would only lead to repeated failures and increase costs for US taxpayers. He added that continued stalling would bring no meaningful outcome and would only deepen political and economic pressure.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baqaei said that all demands made to the United States are legitimate and that Iran has presented what he described as generous and responsible proposals.
He said Iran would not step back from its core positions, including ending conflict and piracy, restoring Iranian assets, and ensuring regional security, including in Lebanon.
Baqaei added that Tehran remains committed to its stated objectives and expects reciprocal seriousness from the other side in diplomatic engagement.
