PESHAWAR: A jirga of local elders and influential figures visited Mola Khan Sarai Category-D Hospital and reviewed the healthcare facilities being provided under a public-private partnership.
The hospital is being run by PIMS and JAJI Healthcare (Pvt) Ltd in partnership with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Foundation (KPHF). The visit was part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services in the area.
Hospital officials briefed the jirga on medical, administrative and development work and took its members around different sections of the facility.
The elders raised questions about the recruitment of local Class-IV employees, ambulance services, the number of patients treated in the emergency department, labour room facilities, availability of medicines, renovation work, restoration of the solar power system and the recruitment process.
The administration said all Class-IV employees were local residents and that the ambulance service was operating with the support of Rescue 1122. It said a permanent Rescue 1122 office would also be established at the hospital soon.
Maternity and child health services at the labour room were being provided free of charge, while more than 2,000 patients had so far received treatment at the facility, officials said. Essential medicines were available in sufficient quantities and the filtered outpatient department would be made operational soon.
Hospital officials said JAJI Healthcare chief executive Dr Shafiur Rehman, chairman Ejaz Ahmed and managing director Naveed Hussain were overseeing efforts to provide transparent and modern healthcare services.
The jirga members expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s overall performance, administrative arrangements and public-oriented services. They also praised the provincial government, health department, KPHF, PIMS, JAJI Healthcare and the hospital administration for their efforts.
