KARACHI: Police have arrested an operations manager of a private bank and his associate in connection with the theft of cash from an ATM on Aram Bagh Road in Karachi.
According to police officials, the suspects allegedly opened the ATM’s lock and covered the CCTV camera with chewing gum before stealing Rs53.7 million from the machine.
Police said Rs2.974 million of the stolen cash has been recovered from the suspects following their arrest. The investigation is continuing to determine the full circumstances of the theft and whether other people were involved.
Authorities are also examining CCTV footage and other evidence collected during the investigation.
