KARACHI: The Karachi Bar Association has approved new official rates for photocopy services at all shops operating within the City Courts complex, warning that businesses charging above the prescribed prices could face disciplinary action, including cancellation of their licences.
According to an official notice signed by Treasurer Kashif Nazeer Baloch and Acting General Secretary Riaz Ahmed Korai, the revised rates set the price of a standard black-and-white photocopy at Rs4 per page, while WhatsApp printouts will cost Rs10 per page and colour photocopies will be charged at Rs15 per page.
The association directed all photocopy shop owners within the City Courts premises to implement the new rates immediately and ensure strict compliance with the approved price list.
It said the decision was aimed at protecting litigants, lawyers and court visitors from overcharging while promoting transparency and uniformity in service charges across the court complex.
The Karachi Bar Association warned that any shop found violating the approved rates or failing to comply with the association’s instructions would face strict disciplinary action. Penalties could include the suspension or cancellation of the shop’s operating licence within the City Courts premises.
The association urged all service providers to adhere to the revised pricing structure and maintain fair business practices to ensure better facilities for members of the legal community and the public.
