KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has congratulated Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Amjad Hussain on his election as the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, describing the result as a victory for both the party and democratic values.
In a congratulatory message issued on Monday, the mayor said the election reflected the confidence of the people in the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
He expressed confidence that Amjad Hussain would use his experience and leadership to promote development, good governance and prosperity in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said the new provincial government would continue to advance public welfare projects in line with the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, with a focus on improving the lives of local communities.
He said the Pakistan Peoples Party remained committed to public service, democracy, constitutional supremacy and equitable development, adding that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan had once again placed their trust in the party.
The mayor expressed hope that the new administration would prioritise development projects, job creation, education, healthcare and the provision of essential public services.
He also described Gilgit-Baltistan as a strategically important region with significant natural resources, tourism potential and cultural diversity, saying its sustainable development was closely linked to Pakistan’s overall progress.
Concluding his message, Barrister Murtaza Wahab extended his best wishes to Chief Minister Amjad Hussain and his team, expressing hope that they would serve the people with dedication, integrity and success.
