KARACHI: Khidmat-e-Khalq Vocational Training Institute (KKVTI) held an information technology and artificial intelligence awareness workshop in Lyari, bringing together students, trainers and community leaders to promote digital skills and emerging career opportunities in Pakistan’s growing technology sector.
The workshop, titled “Demystifying Tech: Navigating Modern IT Careers & The Freelance Economy,” took place at the Muslim Kutchhi Kumhar Jamaat Hall in New Kumhar Wara. It was organized by Sir Zaman and attracted a large number of students eager to learn about the changing demands of the digital economy.
The keynote session was delivered by software engineer, IT trainer and freelancer Tazeen Anees, who explained how rapid advances in information technology and artificial intelligence were reshaping workplaces across the world. She highlighted the growing importance of digital literacy and encouraged participants to develop practical skills that could help them compete in local and international markets.
Participants were introduced to in-demand digital skills, modern software tools and career paths that are increasingly sought after by employers. The session remained interactive throughout, with students asking questions about professional development, freelancing and future employment prospects. Their queries were answered in detail, creating an engaging learning environment.
Speaking on the occasion, KKVTI President Muhammad Rafiq Mara urged young people to embrace technology and continue developing practical skills that matched the needs of the modern economy. He said freelancing and digital expertise had become important sources of sustainable employment and financial independence. He encouraged students to remain disciplined, committed and focused on quality education so they could build successful professional careers.
The program was supervised by Rais Mara and Media Coordinator Muhammad Suleman Munrai. Chairperson of the Ladies Wing Committee Nausheen Javed and her team, including Mah Noor Altaf Hussain, Muskan, Sanober, Saba Muhammad Rafiq and Asma Abdul Ghani, played an active role in organising the event. Members of the Welfare Cabinet, including General Secretary Aftab Ahmed, Finance Secretary Mirza Imtiaz Ali, Akbar Ali, Saleem Suleman, Saleh Muhammad, Muhammad Saleem and Habib, also attended and supported the program.
