KARACHI: Sindh Opposition Leader Ali Khursheedi and senior MQM-Pakistan leader Dr Farooq Sattar visited Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Independence Day and paid tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The two leaders offered prayers for the country’s security, stability and progress.
Khursheedi said Independence Day was not merely a celebration but a day for Pakistanis at home and abroad to renew their commitment to the country and remember the sacrifices made by their forefathers for its creation. He said the vision and teachings of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal remained a guiding force for the nation.
Khursheedi described young people as Pakistan’s future and its greatest source of strength, saying they must be provided with quality education, technical training and opportunities for dignified employment. He urged the younger generation to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of those who had laid down their lives for Pakistan and play their part in building the country.
Khursheedi said Pakistan’s progress required people to rise above linguistic, regional and other prejudices and work together for a common national purpose. “A strong, prosperous, welfare-oriented and democratic Pakistan is our shared responsibility,” he said.
Khursheedi said MQM-Pakistan would continue its struggle for adherence to the constitution and law and for the protection of Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity. He said the nation had a responsibility to preserve the sacrifices of its martyrs and build a brighter and more prosperous Pakistan for future generations.
