KARACHI: The chairman of Korangi Town, Muhammad Naeem Sheikh, carried out a detailed visit to Union Council 8 as part of the ongoing clean and green Korangi campaign, reviewing sanitation work, garbage collection, drain cleaning and improvements in parks.
He was accompanied by UC 8 vice-chairman Umar Farooq, along with the directors of parks and sanitation, and other municipal officials and staff.
During the visit, the chairman inspected cleanliness arrangements on roads, streets and public spaces, and directed staff to further improve sanitation standards to ensure a clean and pleasant environment for residents.
Naeem Sheikh said the aim of the campaign was not limited to cleanliness but extended to making the entire town greener, more attractive and free from environmental pollution. He added that phased work including sanitation, tree plantation, footpath renovation and park restoration would continue across all union councils.
He instructed municipal officials to ensure prompt redressal of public complaints and warned that no negligence in sanitation work would be tolerated.
Residents of the area welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the campaign would bring visible improvements across different parts of Korangi.
